Paradise Island Resorts and Spa, Maldives

Paradise Island Resorts and Spa, Maldives

If you haven’t visited the Maldives, then we highly recommend starting your experience in this resort. The turquoise water, white and pristine beaches, fantastic weather though it rains for few hours during our stay and the hospitality of the Maldivians in this resort was worth visiting for. The island is truly beautiful and words won’t do justice to describe it.

This 5 star resort is a part of Villa hotels, located just 20 minutes from the airport by speed boat. Set on the island known as Lankanfinolhu, located in North Male Atoll. It was an uncompromising destination of luxury and comfort that features luxury villas and suites overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Paradise Island Resort and Spa

We stayed for 3 nights in room 236, a superior beach bungalow. It’s a 5 minutes walk from the bar, restaurants, swimming pool, spa. Make sure that they will not assign you for room numbers 275 and above because it’s far from the restaurants, reception. The buggies take time to arrive. Choose a room from 200 to 275 only for beach view and more privacy. Our room was very tidy and spacious. The white walls and ceilings create an airy and light atmosphere. There are cushioned rattan sofas and a coffee table too. Step through the front door to the veranda facing the beach, furnished with comfy sun loungers, perfect for a serene afternoon of reading or enjoying the ocean breeze.

Buffet breakfast and dinner included in our room fees are great and delightful. Mostly on the menu are changed each day so guest won’t be fed up. When booking, you can select if bed and breakfast only, half board or full board. There are also several restaurants on the island which differ in cuisine so you won’t be disappointed. We tried having a special dinner at Ristorante al Tramanto which is located at the end of the main jetty, overlooking the ocean. We certainly enjoyed the warm candlelit setup made by one Filipina staff and the food was terrific!

Paradise Island Resort

The resort provides plenty of activities and should keep one occupied for a few days of relaxation and adventure. Some activities are fishing, diving, snorkeling, jet skiing etc . Plenty of activities for kids with table tennis etc. The bars during nightlife here was so alive. There’s a night where we joined a crab racing and it was totally fun! The main pool was very small considering the size of the island. I guess its because there are many areas on the beach. You can always find a section of the beach to yourself.

Wifi can be purchased in several packages which ranges from USD 3 to 25. It’s only accessible from the main bar, pool and reception areas. And come on, don’t ever complain about that, it is in an island. Be thankful they still have it. The resort charge in USD so no need to change your money to Maldivian rupees but they do accept it.

Water and other beverages are not free. It will cost you $2 per 1 liter of water. Everything in this resort has a 10% service charge and 2% tax. Whatever you purchase in here, whether you dine or buy from the souvenir shop, room charges and all, you just need to inform them with your room number.

Staff and Service

The personnel are very polite, engaging and friendly. They go beyond to give the best service. The only person who disappoints us here was unfortunately a Filipina named Joy. We booked a dinner setup by the beach. We are told that if the weather became too windy they will cancel the dinner. She was supposed to call us at least 1 hour before dinner but she failed too and we can’t find her the same night. We did see her in the morning and she just ignored us as if nothing happened.

The hotel was booked by our travel agent located in Dubai. But to check for prices, you can visit in the hotel’s official website. But we strongly recommend you not to book directly on the website, offered a much cheaper price which we only discovered later 🙁

In a nutshell, the resort is an excellent retreat if you are looking for a secluded place just to enjoy the beaches and the sun. The view was amazing, good food, great staff, comfortable beds, we couldn’t wish for more. It’s one of the moments that are worth keeping.
