Why still Choose Corus Hotel in Kuala Lumpur?

Why still Choose Corus Hotel in Kuala Lumpur?

We stayed as a family in Corus hotel last May 2016. Considering that we’re a family, with the elders not to mention, all the convenience must be firstly considered before anything else. So upon choosing a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, I explained to the husband that it should be comfortably accessible from the main attractions – Petronas and KL tower. Then we found the perfect one which is just a few steps from it, good job husband 🙂 Here are the reasons why you still need to choose this property despite of the problems we encountered with them.

1. Best Location

This 4 star hotel is only a short walk to the underground Putra LRT and from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, the famous Petronas Twin Towers and the city’s premier shopping centre, Suria KLCC. And if you fancy cheap shopping and good local food, the Petaling street and Bukit Bintang districts are nearby this hotel.

2. Outdated Designs but Spacious Rooms

The reception and restaurants are so grand that we expect something more about the rooms. But it’s the only grand about this property. We stayed in 3 rooms in the second floor and from the hallway up to the rooms are ok but not impressive. Our rooms were spacious and clean with a beautiful view. The hotel needs to improve their bathroom though as it is rather outdated and isn’t in keeping with the modern look of the room.

i requested from the beginning that we wanted the 2 rooms to have queen size bed, they gave us 2 rooms with twin beds!

3. Wide Selection of Breakfast

The hotel’s breakfast buffet is delicious with a wide selection of international and local cuisine however has repeated dishes. The breakfast buffet is great and we highly commend it.

4. Functional Facilities

The pool is simple and functional, nothing decorative about it but had lovely lounge chairs.  The gym is well-equipped and roomy. They also have a room for sauna. One suggestion might be that there should be more seating in the reception area for visiting guests and for those who might want to just lounge around.

5. Slow Checkin/Checkout Process but Accommodating Reservations

From the booking and arranging our transfers, everything was accommodated with promptness by Liza. But from the slow check in process up to our check out time, we’re a bit disappointed. Lack of communication I must say, is it with the accent or poor English? The front desks are not that helpful. But at the breakfast and housekeeping staffs, thank you for treating your guests courteously.

6. Good Value for Money

We booked Corus hotel via Booking.com, stayed for 3 nights and paid AED 2347 (MYR 2592). Another MYR 650 (additional 150 if it is early morning transfer) for the 2 way transfers from the KLIA2 airport. We always opt to have an airport transfer when it’s a family trip.

Our Overall Experienced

We enjoyed this hotel because it is accessible to everything! From shopping to sightseeing and even public transportation, the only downside was the incompetency of the reception staffs. In summary, I would still recommend this hotel for a comfortable and affordable stay in a good location.
