The Astonishing Andromeda Villas, Santorini

The Astonishing Andromeda Villas, Santorini

We’re so amazed the moment we arrived in this hotel. The view was gorgeous in every point at the hotel. Totally, out of this world! Check in process is quick, welcome drinks are offered, warm welcome from the staff – a great way to ease the boredom we had from our 6 hours journey at the ferry from Mykonos to Santorini.

This 4 star property villa is located in the highest point of Santorini as we are told by the agent in Imerovigli. The location is quite fine, 10 minutes drive to the town of Fira, 20-30 minutes drive from Oia. There are many fine restaurants on the way cascading down the hills so no need to worry about the lunch or dinner.

I felt lost on our way to our room because of the cascading structure of the rooms. Good thing, our room no. 105 is located 2 levels from the parking area so it’s easy to go out. This place has two small lifts with many stairs and the fastest most pleasant bellmen I’ve ever seen that looks like James Bond, seriously. So you don’t need to worry about dragging luggage, they’ll handle it.

Our room was a superior double suite, which means that you have a small terrace with two lounge chairs in front of your room for your exclusive use. It is bigger than of in Mykonos with complete dining set, long sofa, small kitchen but bathroom is relatively small.  Wi-fi is free however the signal is a little weak due to the location of the hotel. It is completely built upon the western slope which gives an opportunity to view sunset that is completely out of this world experience.

Sunset and caldera view from our room is spectacular!

The facilities of the hotel are incredible. Pools are surrounded by double sized sun loungers which have a pullover fabric roof to provide shelter from the sun. There are an additional two splash pools which were at the middle and bottom of the hotel, great for cooling off in. One single medium sized pool is next to the bar. The pool area has few sun beds but we never had an issue getting one. I think like us, most guests go off and explore the island rather than sit by the pool all day. We preferred the highest splash pool area as it was a bit quieter than the main pool.

you can just spend the whole day here!

Whether you fancy a full English or continental style, the buffet breakfast offers plenty of selection. There were lots of Croissants, fruit, cereals, cheeses, meats etc to choose from. You can have any drinks you want served on your table. Huge and different variety each day, it’s more enticing for us compared with the other hotels we stayed at Greece.

Staff and Service

Staffs are courteous and helpful. Appreciation is always shown by the staff especially those who are in the restaurants.

Booking was done by a travel agency so we don’t know the hotel price. You may check their website for price details. But we strongly recommend you to book via as they offer a much cheaper price than going directly with the hotel’s website. We only discovered this later 🙁

We definitely felt luxury with this hotel. Word of advice, there are a lot of steps in this hotel depending on where your room is, I would recommend leaving the fashion shoes at home and wearing flats or hip sneakers as they are the best for the cobblestone paths and many steps.
