Kuala Lumpur is a huge and extensive city with many diverse and interesting attractions. The cosmopolitan capital of Malaysia is undoubtedly an incredible city. And if you’re planning to visit anytime soon, here’s the complete travel expenses we have for our family of six last May 2016.
Exchange rate is 1 Malaysian Ringgit MYR = 11.46 Philippine Peso PHP
Tips: Find out what’s the current exchange rate for Malaysian Ringgit before leaving your country. Avoid exchanging money in airports or banks as they charge more. Going to an actual currency exchange booth like in Suria KLCC is a better option.
We booked via Airasia 3 months before our flight. The exact date is from May 23-26, 2016 from Manila to KL.
Cost: PHP 8344 per person or a total of PHP 50063 for 6 people with no add on.
Visa Free Country
Good news! Malaysia is a visa free country.
Again we booked through the ever reliable Booking.com for 3 rooms, MYR 2592 = PHP 29696. Always check what are the inclusions and exclusions when booking online. In our case, the tax and service charge are excluded. But the breakfast is included in the room rate. The total fee paid in the hotel is MYR 3523 = PHP 40362 since we opt for an airport two way transfer.
Read our review with Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
As we’re a group, I believe it will be convenient for everybody to have a private van with a tour guide instead of forcing my parents to walk here and there while getting lost in the city! We found Kuala Lumpur Travel Tour with good reviews of tripadvisor, an agency based in Malaysia. The total cost of our customised tour is MYR 2200 = PHP 25213. This includes the ticket to Petronas tower 86th level, KL tower and KL Bird Park.
