Before sharing our pleasant staycation at Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai, let me share first our dining experience in one of the popular restaurants in Dubai – Kris With a View. It’s one of the few restaurants in the city that offers a 360 degree view of Dubai! Situated perfectly at the 19th floor of the hotel, the restaurant satisfies its guests with Asian cuisines while taking in Dubai panoramic view. Sounds a perfect date night with your partner or even with the whole family right? 🙂
Kris with a View offers different themed buffet every night except Saturday to Monday. They offer Ochi Sushi on Tuesday, Seafood every Wednesday, Pan Asian on Thursday and Indian/Malaysian every Friday. They also have Taste of Asia Friday brunch.
We tried the Pan Asian Themed Night on a Thursday. Let me take you to our dining experience at Kris with a View 🙂
Restaurant was quite spacious with contemporary look and gave off a relaxing ambiance. It offers a comfortable seating area with a choice of a private dining space, a family or business area. The interiors and whole setting are sleekly done with dim lighting that certainly adds up a romantic touch to the place. Perhaps our table was the best spot as we can see the Burj Khalifa along with the city lights! Is there anything more romantic than this? 🙂
The Food and Menu
As soon as we were seated, they offered a drinks menu. The menu was pretty impressive with a wide range of fresh juices, cocktails, mocktails, wines and other beverages. We chose to try their mocktails, a Berry Times 3 (Cranberry, Strawberry and Blueberry combination) for me and a Peach Black (Iced tea with peach syrup) for the husband! He likes it so much that he asked for another one. Both drinks were refreshing and tasty. But we made sure to take a single sip only as we get ready for the buffet!
Browsing at the Pan Asian buffet, the selections are splendid! There are several stations available such as a live noodles station, dimsum, sushi and sashimi stations. There’s also a Roasted lamb and Peking duck station which is my favorite! Of course the appetizer, salad, soup, dessert stations are also present. The main course includes Asian specialties from Malaysia, Thailand, China and India.
If you feel like eating healthy, fresh salad mix and make your own salad with the help of their Chef are available. Some of the options are grilled beef salad, tandoori gobi and tuna marmalade. Assorted nuts from dry to wet chutneys in a separate corner were offered. We opt to skip the healthy part and started with soup and other available starter. Let’s get it on! 🙂
Soup and Starter
The Pan Asian night buffet offers a pretty impressive selection of starter that fully delights our taste buds 🙂 We had vegetable spring roll, chicken lollipop and toasted prawns. There are two soup options that night. I had Thai Tom Yum as I love mild spicy food and the husbands’ go for the Miso soup.
Then I had Peking duck and Iah tried the roasted lamb. Goodness, I can eat it every day! 🙂 Iah was raving about the soft chewable lamb. Trivia: this man loves soft food that he will cook for long hours until the meat is soft like cotton :p
Sushi and Sashimi
The corner where sushi and sashimi are offered will surely satisfy the sushi devotees. I will not lie, I’m not a fan of sushi or anything raw but I begin adventuring with Japanese food lately so I must say that it tastes good and satiating. And with that lovely presentation, who would not dare? Varieties from seafood to vegetarian sushi are available.
Live Noodles Station
We had Malaysian rice noodles from the three noodle options prepared by the friendly Chef Linda. It was so fun to watch the Chef cooking. And we became more thrilled when she actively put the seasonings. She then put the egg, shrimp and vegetables. Tadaa! Here’s my plate of awesome goodness! 🙂 It was so satisfying and flavorful.
We also tried the vegetable and prawn dimsum, chicken siomai from the mini station. Don’t forget to dip it with soy sauce and chilli for the perfect Chinese taste. Another section on the right is dedicated for condiments if you want to add some dash to your meal.
Chicken siomai, prawn and vegetable dimsum! Yum! 😋 served during the Pan Asian night at Kris with a View @parkregisdubai 💕Besides the stunning view you’ll get a real taste of much love Asian dishes like this! ❤️ our dining experience is up on the blog, link in bio 😊 ———————— Who loves Chinese food? 😍 ———————— #DubaiRestaurants #ParkRegisDubai #KriswithaView
After almost 30 minutes of indulgence with the above dishes, we’re ready for the main course. Available rice includes jeera rice, nasi minyale (ghee rice) and steamed rice. Indian flavours include green chicken curry, Mutton vindaloo, Dal Tadka and Naan bread. Other Asian dishes that are stir fried are beef, mix seafood and mix vegetable. More options like beef sambal, chicken rendang, pacheri nenas, assam pedas ikan and prawn coconut are also served. (Sorry! we forgot to take photo of our plate during the main course as we’re indulging ourselves!)
My favourite would be the chicken rendang, it’s a Malaysian dish of chicken stew with spices and coconut milk and the assam pedas fish, another Malaysian dish. The husband enjoyed his mutton vindaloo and chicken curry. As we need to save a room for desserts, we haven’t really tasted the other options but I must admit that there are many varieties to choose from.
The fun part of every buffet would be the dessert section especially for those who love sweets. Kris with a View will surely delight you just like what my husband felt after tasting ample servings of desserts 🙂 On display were the gulab jamoon (fried flour balls with sugar syrup) passion fruit cream, red beans cake, coconut dadar (coconut and palm jaggery filled pancakes), kola bora (banana fritters), Chinese steamed buns, jalebi (sugar filled spirals) and rasmalai. I guess most of the desserts are from India, some are Indonesian/Malaysian.
International desserts are also available such as jackfruit cake, kheer, strawberry cake, sago pudding, pandan crème, and fresh fruits. My choices would be the coconut dadar and jackfruit cake. The husband enjoyed most the cakes, sago pudding and pandan creme.
Staff and Service
From the moment we seated until we leave the restaurant, everyone seems to be friendly and attentive. We found the Chefs to be energetic and cheery. Our table was immediately cleared and arranged after every plate done. Staffs are also alert about our drinks and they kept on asking in a timely manner if there’s something we need. Besides the good food, the restaurant staff made our dining experience more pleasurable! 🙂
Thank you so much Ms. Iman, Mr. Mobin, Mr. Tushara, The Chefs, Sajesh and the rest of the staff from the restaurant and the hotel. You guys are awesome! We’re definitely coming back! 🙂
