We stayed for a short 5 nights in India’s classic Golden Triangle – Agra, Delhi and Jaipur. All hotel accommodation was provided by a local travel agency that we booked – Gets Holidays. They were the cheapest and most reliable agency reviewed by many travelers in TripAdvisor. While they’ve chosen the hotels, my husband still checked the location of each hotel. The hotel in Agra was changed to a nearer location to Taj Mahal with an extra fee. Let us share you our reviews of each 3* hotel we stayed while we’re in India.

Hotel Intercity, New Delhi
Website: www.hotelintercitydelhi.com Stayed for: 3 nights
Room & Elevator: The room is spacious, clean with dim lighting. Bathroom was small during the first 2 nights but we’re surprised to have a bigger bathroom during our last night after our full tour! There are mini toiletries (as in super mini!) bucket in the shower area and water pressure is sometimes unpredictable. Air-conditioning is controlled in the reception. There’s a ceiling fan and the door lock is old school. The elevator is super-fast that you might just want to take the stairs instead!haha. Good thing there are 3 floors only.
Wifi & Breakfast: Given the outdated facilities, surprisingly their WIFI connection is fast! So we’re totally fine with our whole stay in Intercity 🙂 Breakfast serves Indian cuisines with 5-6 options plus omelet cooking station.
Location & Service: Service is remarkably fast. Anything that we requested from the reception was delivered promptly. Location is perfect as it was just a few steps away from the public market, McDonalds, one restaurant is literally outside the hotel.
Hotel Taj Resorts, Agra
Website: www.hoteltajresorts.com Stayed for: 1 night
Room & Facilities: We were greeted with welcome drinks and flower necklaces hanged on us. They assisted us to our room and explained the room amenities. The air conditioning, room controls and elevators are modern here. There’s a rooftop swimming pool with the Taj Mahal view (but we failed to see it because of the friendly fog!), two restaurants, massages & spa amenities and banquet hall for celebratory ceremonies. Room is spotlessly clean but smaller than of in Intercity. In the bathroom, water pressure was strong with complete mini toiletries.
Wifi, Breakfast, In-Room Dining: WIFI connection was good. The in room dining service was quick and the food was really great. With the breakfast, it was not a buffet as we’re informed that there are only 4 rooms for guests like us. And the rest of the rooms are fully occupied by wedding guests so their breakfast is in the banquet hall. Still, we like our breakfast here most compared in Agra and Jaipur hotels.
Location & Service: Since this was a hotel chosen by the husband, trust that it is perfectly situated near the point of interest – the Taj Mahal. Taj Resorts is a 5-10 minutes walk from the Taj Mahal. It is situated after the ticketing area along with other chain of hotels. We find the staff very helpful and accommodating especially when we requested for a car service to Mehtab Bagh – the backdoor view of the Taj.
Hotel Lords Plaza, Jaipur
Website: www.lordshotels.com/lords-plaza-jaipur/ Stayed for: 1 night
Room & Facilities: Perhaps the Lords Plaza in Jaipur was the most impressive out of the 3 hotels since there’s an atrium lobby and a grand staircase leading all the way to the top floor. There’s a balcony, huge closets, easy room/AC controls. Bathroom is equipped with complete amenities but the husband doesn’t like the gray colored towels. Meeting rooms, lounge bar, banquet facility are available. But pool and spa treatment rooms are missing.
Wifi, Breakfast, In-Room Dining: WIFI wasn’t that fast and I’m always getting disconnected. Sad. Breakfast was fine with good options of Indian cuisines. The restaurant food which we ordered via in-room dining taste really good!
Location & Service: Not sure with the location but it’s like 10 minutes rickshaw drive to Hawa Mahal. While we’re happy with the amenities and in-room dining food, we’re not really pleased with the service. It was around 11 pm when the husband asked them to lower the volume of the disturbing music coming from the hall. Also, he called many times the reception and restaurant to follow up for the ordered food which they informed to be delivered in 45 minutes only. But it happens that it arrives after one and half hour.
