A staycation weekend is surely relaxing. Just like what we’ve experience last weekend at Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa – a walk by the beach, morning sunrises from our private balcony, indulging ourselves with the restaurant offerings or lounging by the pool. But with an addition of a massage, an aromatherapy massage to be exact, wow! That’s totally rejuvenating!

We had the pleasure to experience one of the signature massage treatment at Zen the Spa of Fujairah Rotana Resort last weekend. After a sumptuous breakfast, some quiet time at the beach and a lot of walking in the lush green landscapes of the resort we headed to the spa haven. Let us share you our wonderful experience at Zen the Spa.

Zen the Spa

As we stepped into, we were immediately greeted by welcoming smiles of Ms. Ritu and Ning, one of the therapists. We were asked to fill up a form wherein you need to provide your basic details, health conditions, preferred pressure etc. I was very impressed when they questioned which parts of our body they wanted us to avoid or focus more on. Most massage spa will just go with the usual, but we really appreciated that Zen the Spa went the extra mile, especially since I am really ticklish in one area, haha!

We’re escorted by Ms. Ritu then handed us to 2 lovely therapists to a large couple’s room, with two massage beds, a jacuzzi and a steam/shower bath. There are two chairs with a sofa inside and a private seating outside. The spa room was very spacious with high ceiling and natural gentle lighting. By the mere sight of the room, I already felt relaxed. What more when the treatment started!

To start the aromatherapy treatment, we’re given a handful of essential oils to select. My therapist Ning who was from Thailand was really skilled in knowing which areas to relieve my stress – my neck, shoulders, upper back, my full body felt more relaxed after the treatment. The subtle aroma of the essential oils fill the air around us during the massage had made me so relaxed that I was trying hard to not fall asleep! :p Well my husband did, thanks to Carol magic hands. For how long? He can’t remember!haha!

A heat pack was placed under our neck after the massage and it worked wonders. While I was enjoying my tea, the husband enjoyed the Jacuzzi bath. It was very relaxing according to him, with the flower aroma, making it even more so. The therapists left the room during this time, and asked us to let them know when we were ready to go out.

Ning and Carol, along with the other staff in the reception and of course Ms. Ritu were all friendly and super professional.
